Description

Mostly just playing around. Nigel M5 on G2M by Male-M3dia/ForbiddenWhispers/JSGraphics, in the i13 Working office set, using an included smart prop lollipop and a tweak to one of the included poses. Clothing is from a couple of DZheng sets -- I'm not sure which one, but in the Content Library, the top is called, by its creator, the DoucheBag Sweater, I kid you not. Uses Khory's Beyond Boudoir shaders on the top.

This wound up being, as they say, a learning process ... though I'm not entirely sure what was learned. Since Nigel M5 is all morph sliders, I figured transferring him over to G2M would be pretty simple; just find all the Nigel sliders, transfer them over with GenX2 as Selected Morphs with Properties, and presto changeo! Nigel! Right ... Yeah, kind of. Kind of.

One of the things I find both helpful and frustrating about GenX2 is that depending (I think) on how you do the transfer, sometimes it drags the figure and shape along for the ride. About half the M4 transfers I've done include M4 as part of the transferred shape. Sometimes, however, the shapes don't transfer. The one thing I've gotten for sure, I think, is that when you transfer a shape as a Selected Morph with Properties, the underlying shapes NEVER come along. This isn't a huge deal with Gen3 or Gen4, but gets complicated with Genesis and Genesis2, because it means that there are two different things to consider. For example, with Nigel, he looked horrible when I first dialed in the M5 shapes by themselves. I took me ages to realize that maybe, just maybe, I needed to dial in the Genesis shape as well. And I did that, and lo and behold, there he was! So something to consider for the future. (Also, probably not transferring over many Genesis shapes unless there's some pressing reason.)

I really wanted to put him in a kilt -- Nigel and kilts DO have a certain history, after all -- but (a) there aren't any for Genesis 2 Male at the moment, and (b) converted and autofitted kilts had a tendency to billow in the back in a sit pose in ways that couldn't be dealt with. (Nothing to do with conversion or autofit, really; they do the same thing on Genesis.) Dynamics would have sort of worked. At the very least, the back would have collided with the chair seat instead of wrapping around it.
