A wedding

And then things went slightly mad, and the guys completely lost control of everything. As frequently happens with families and weddings. People were insisting on inviting ancient relatives that nobody had spoken to in years, and many such relatives were taking the opportunity to express their disapproval of various aspects, and someone else was having fits over floral arrangements, and the issue of morning coats somehow made an appearance, and really, this was just becoming A Production more than a wedding.

So the guys decided to take back their wedding. They found the location, talked their friend Xiluwa into getting ordained through the Universal Life Church. Then they called their best friends, Haruka and Lorenzo, and said they'd found the location and wanted another opinion, and bullied and badgered them into showing up the same day at the same time to take a look at the place with them. And so they showed up at the proper day and time, only to see the guys completely turned Out, and to realize that they'd been deceived, and that A Wedding Was Nigh. Very Nigh. Nigh Unto happening this very moment, in fact. Haruka and Lorenzo were alternately thrilled and delighted and seriously pissed off, but mostly thrilled and delighted. (Don't ask where Haruka's flowers came from. She has no idea.) Xiluwa read deep and meaningful passages from "A Scandal in Bohemia", as one does. And then they were married, and it was all legal, and there were certificates and signatures and everything. Total cost, nothing more than the rental fee for the Portello for a couple hours. (Well, and a celebration dinner for all participants after.) They already had the suits.

And then the guys left long notes for their families, telling them to cancel everything because the hitching had already taken place, and they fled for a week or two to Venice (yes, Italy) for a honeymoon. It should only take a week or two for everyone to get over themselves, right?
